The Canyons is a proposed development of 80 acres just east of the Palisades going up the slope of the Virginia Hills. The developer, Dolan, has received approval from the City Council for a Planned Unit Development. The plan is to build 70 homes on 29 acres in four clusters. The balance of the area would be designated open space. This development was previously called Westview Estates when a different engineering company had been employed. The Westview Estates project was withdrawn in July 2020.
Residents expressed concern for the wild horses that traverse this area in their quest for water coming from the Virginia Hills.
